As the competition for cleared IT talent continues to heat up, many employers are looking to college students to combat the defense talent shortage. The number of individuals currently waiting for security clearance in the defense sector has more than tripled over the past four years to well over half a million, according to the National Background Investigations Bureau (NBIB). Driving Top Technical Talent to Fairfax and Montgomery Counties

On November 16, Governor Ralph Northam announced the funding for the project from the Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP), which will support the addition of 580 new jobs in Montgomery County and 225 new jobs in Fairfax County by 2021.
The Fairfax Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) worked together with Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) to secure the project for Virginia. VEDP will support 1901 Group’s recruitment activities through VJIP, a program that provides consultative services and funding to companies creating new jobs to support employee training activities.
