Work Talk Podcast: VA Ready and 1901 Group Partnership Grows the Southwest Virginia Workforce

The COVID-19 pandemic has created a crisis in our country, especially right in Southwest Virginia. With the recent news of business closure and job loss, Virginia and its workers face a high unemployment rate with claims reaching over 800,000.

Seizing the opportunity to help Virginians during the unemployment crisis, 1901 Group is working with VA Ready, a newly established nonprofit organization, as a Business Partner to help re-equip out-of-work Virginians with the training needed for in-demand jobs.

In the recent episode of the Work Talk Podcast, Marty Holiday, host of Work Talk, interviews Caren Merrick, CEO of VA Ready, and Sonu Singh, Founder and CEO of 1901 Group, to discuss the creation of VA Ready and how its partnership provides financial incentives for motivated, out-of-work Virginias to reskill for in-demand jobs in high-growth sectors.
