George Young, vice president of public sector at Elastic, and Paul Wilkinson, executive vice president of 1901 Group, discuss what the growing adoption of cloud services in government means for industry, and what the future holds for tech in the region.
Paul Wilkinson, executive vice president of 1901 Group, says that growth in the sector will start to strain the tech workforce in the D.C. area.

“I think the workforce is going to be a big challenge moving forward into the future. We’re already in a tight labor market and with Amazon HQ2 coming to the national capital region, it is going to create even more strain on the environment. Just finding the right people to do the job,” Wilkinson said. “I think people need to be working with academia to create programs that they can use to train people. We need to attract people into the workforce and make sure they have the tools they need to do the job.”
