Virginia and its workers face an unprecedented employment crisis. It’s timely in addressing the COVID-19 related unemployment crisis; timeless in strengthen our economy.

At the time of this blog in June, more than 800,000 people in the Commonwealth filed for unemployment since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. While the data is distressing, demand is projected to grow for specialized jobs in the fields of technology, healthcare and manufacturing/skilled trades. These occupations are expected to remain in demand over the coming years, providing opportunities for employment across Virginia.

1901 Group partnered with the Virginia Ready Initiative (VA Ready) to support retraining the unemployed Virginians across the Commonwealth to help get them back to work quickly and to get the careers they want.  Together, we are building stronger connections in the community to equip people who are out of work with the required skills for in demand jobs in high growth sectors as we to help combat the COVID-19 job loss across the Commonwealth.
