1901 Group Awarded $1.8M Subcontract to Provide Department of Commerce Next-Gen IT
Company Joins Halvik Corp to Provide Shared Services to Transform and Modernize DOC
FAIRFAX, VA – February 27, 2019 – The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) awards a contract to Halvik Corp and 1901 Group to deliver a next-generation IT service delivery model to Enterprise Services (ES) and for infrastructure assessment of the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).
As a subcontractor to Halvik, one of the leading small businesses in the Federal IT space, 1901 Group will leverage their expertise as a FedRAMP authorized managed service provider to transform the DOC organization to deliver cross-cutting shared services such as IT as-a-Service that leverage cloud architectures and consumption-based pricing models. These shared services will improve IT service delivery for enterprise network, applications, and security, feeding into the overarching ES mission to drive improvements in the service delivery to DOC.
In addition, the team will provide an IT modernization roadmap to transform and modernize BIS IT operations based on industry best practices that will ensure quality delivery of all services and scaling of these services for BIS customers. Activities include IT discovery, advisory, and implementation services for BIS.
“We are proud to team with Halvik to support the Commerce Department’s mission of creating economic growth and opportunity by transforming their current support models to one that is performant, robust, reliable, and cost-effective,” said Paul Wilkinson, EVP of 1901 Group. “Our innovative approach will help to minimize risk while providing maximum cost savings to DOC as they strive to strengthen and secure our economy to better serve citizens.”
