IT Applications Management
1901 Group was established to bring together highly specialized expertise and the practical experience necessary to effectively support IT applications management throughout the design, transition/implementation, and ongoing support phases the information technology life cycle. Especially important to applications management, our service offerings focus on continuous improvement as a central tenet of our methodology, and in accordance with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
Our ITIL-based framework is comprised of three major activities: service design, which includes analysis and planning; service transition, which includes implementation tasks and processes; and service support and continuous improvement, which offers options for levels of effort and involvement associated with sustainment. This framework is also the foundation for our network operations center (NOC), which leverages an innovative 24/7 approach using Lean Industrial Engineering concepts (including ITIL and Six Sigma) for IT support services, in order to deliver improvements in system performance and enhancements in situational awareness (SA) while reducing client operations and maintenance (O&M) costs.
Our IT applications management service consists of professional services, remote managed services, and/or a combination of remote and on-site (hybrid) managed services for enterprise, line of business, and database applications. The application focus areas are further described as follows:
• Enterprise Application Services: 1901 Group’s Enterprise Applications Services (EAS) provide the analytical, consulting, and managed services necessary to exploit the full business/mission value from current day software solutions across multiple platforms, markets, and industries. Enterprise Applications Services consist of professional and remote managed services for customer’s enterprise ERP, customer relationship management (CRM), and financial applications.
• Business Application Services: 1901 Group’s Business Application Management (BAM) services help ensure the availability and performance of business-critical and mission-critical applications which includes portal and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)-based technologies. 1901 Group’s offering provides visualization of the health of critical IT services and service level agreements (SLAs). BAM services assist our customers with isolating, diagnosing, and resolving the highest-priority transaction performance problems by directly linking operations and development IT life cycle costs and activities. 1901 Group also engages in scenario planning and resource optimization as assets relate to business/mission priorities. This function also includes analysis of: purchase costs, support costs, contract compliance, software consumption model options, and ongoing performance.
• Database Application Services: 1901 Group‘s core application management capabilities include professional and remote managed services for Oracle and SQL database applications. Our Remote Database Administration (DBA) service offers our customers a cost-effective alternative to full-time system administrators and DBAs. Using our team of experts and sophisticated monitoring techniques, 1901 Group offers world-class remote operating system support and remote DBA service at affordable prices. Our Remote DBA Service offers various levels of system monitoring and administration including monitoring critical factors within operating system, database and/or business applications environment, while also providing preventive maintenance for systems and databases. Our alerting system notifies customers of issues as issues arise with monthly reporting and trend analysis targeting past performance activity.
